Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Luigi’s Mansion for the Nintendo GameCube from Nintendo EAD and Nintendo. Luigi’s Mansion is the first starring role for Mario’s little brother, a game in which the easily frightened Luigi must rescue his brother from a haunted mansion with a Ghostbusters-like vacuum cleaner. This video features gameplay of Luigi’s Mansion and commentary. This CGR review of Luigis Mansion on Nintendo Gamecube has gameplay from Luigi’s Mansion showing Nintendo Gamecube game play of Luigi’s Mansion.

this brings back the old days. this game is fun. i can end this game in 1 night. i havent played this game in 5 years. i had to download it. good thing my wii was moded, this game is still the best to me. i would not mind if thay make a lugis masion 2 for wii. like make it a big masion and add new ghost and more boos and make a wifi leader borad to see who has the best score.

It would be awesome if they made a Luigi’s Mansion 2 for the Wii or 3DS!

Really the gameplay mechanic is very similar to Alan Wake – shine flashlight on spooky things then shoot them!

@theras18 I agree with you, but I also think Luigi’s Mansion says more about how relatively powerful and capable the GameCube was than how weak the Wii is. The Wii can provide much better-looking graphics than most developers are willing to explore.

@clouds5 You’re right. It’s all about smart development. Games can be beautiful on the Wii, but developers have to be smart about it. Realism doesn’t translate well with the Wii’s hardware, but a creative art style can. I’d cite Muramasa, Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3, among others. They’re never going to be technically stunning, but games developed specifically for Wii can look beautiful and very post-GameCube.

@theras18 you’re kinda right. There are definately games on the wii that look very nice, take a look at RE: Darkside Chronicles or Red Steel 2. But there are some ports from other consoles for example with terrible graphics, because they weren’t made for the wii and what they did is just downscale everything. Also the Wii was made for CRT Tvs but despite that with the right cables its very playable on big LCDs imho.

sry if somebody feels offended. but imo this graphics could easily be mixed up with a wii game’s graphics. . . not big leap in tech from gc to wii. . .

@lintonthepenguin “FPS games are terminating the games industry”? I disagree, motion controls are terminating the games industry (thanks nintendo). and 10 year olds with mics are terminating FPS games. What i meant is this channel seems to review games everyone has heard of and would like, just seems to be playing it safe. I like to see the games ive never heard about so i can play them and enjoy them like truxton. quit trolling because this is my only response. have a good one

@alfwok Fuck you, just cause a game is childish doesn’t mean it sucks, and the graphics don’t matter, the NES is one of the greatest consoles ever if not the best and it only has 8-bit graphics, oh and don’t tell me that “gamers” are only the people that play the 360 and PC enormus library of FPS

@alfwok Oh, and FPS games are? I hate to say it to you, but FPS games are terminating the games industry because they’re all so repetetive, stale, and they’re all carbon copies of each other. I yearn for the days when those games weren’t FPS games, they were ‘Wolfenstein Clones’. Sigh…

*Because id’s original games were the only decent FPS games around.

this game has a flamethrower therefore, it’s awesome
and besides that, look at the detail in this game
they even made luigi’s nose bounce when he walks
this game really is spectacular, and i also think that developers really took full advantage of the gamecube’s abilities
the best game cube games were exclusive, and i personally think that gamecube had a lot of the best exclusive titles

the animation is atrocious, even for it’s time, check out any major N64 adventure game and the animations there are way more theatrical than this stiff slideshow.

Nice review, but you made a tiny mistake in your review. This is Luigi’s 2nd solo game. “Mario Is Missing” was his 1st. But don’t worry too much about that, everyone forget that game (And for good reason too). Anyways, nice review.
