I remember completing Gunstar Heroes for the Sega Medga Drive/Genesis within a weekend and balked when a retro review said it was fiendishly hard.

Actually, it was Atlus who developed this game for LJN. However, you could blame LJN in part for, like, rushing the game.
I remember playing this……i dont remember it being that hard. Maybe just after countless hours playing it I mastered it.
